Periodic Inspection Report

Every Electrical installation should have a regular 'Period Inspection Report' to ensure there are no faults with the electric installation. Many insurance companies will not pay out in the event of damage to an installation due to an electrical fault unless it is proven that the building has been tested.

We are fully qualified to carry out testing of fixed installations in a professional and efficient manor, and provide test certificates upon completion of each Test. Should any remedial work be required following a test we are able to provide a quotation to carry this out.

Portable Appliance Testing:

A portable appliance is any piece of equipment that can be moved from area to area and reconnected to the supply via a plug and socket system. During everyday use these appliances become worn or damaged and can lead to them becoming unsafe if not properly maintained. PAT Testing is a documented method of electrical maintenance.

Emergency Lighting Testing:

Emergency lighting is required in all premises where people are employed and is designed to assist the occupants in evacuating the premises in the event of power failure which may also be an emergency.

It is a mandatory requirement where artificial lighting is installed and Regulations require that inspection and tests should be carried out at regular intervals and recorded in the 'Emergency Lighting Log Book' which we can provide if not already in use.

Is your Air Conditioning System Compliant?

Under new legislation R22 refrigerants are to be removed and replaced

The reason for the refrigerant R22 replacement is because the refrigerant has a negative impact on our ozone layer and as a result most companies are responding to the legislation change by complying with the regulations earlier than the set deadline of 2015.

Therefore units which use R22 refrigerants should be replaced as soon as possible. R410A is an example of refrigerant being used in place of R22.

How easy is it to get my refrigerant R22 replacement?

Consumers need to contact a reputable Air Conditioning Installer such as Ohms as we are both experienced and F-Gas qualified in carrying out such installations. The safe removal and disposal of R22 systems is hazardous and it is a legal requirement that a qualified F-Gas technician carries this out.

The R22 refrigerant phase out plan

In January 2010 the fluorinated refrigerants used in over 50% of UK air conditioning units was completely banned. This is not to say it isn’t still present in many UK air conditioning units. If you’re not sure whether you have a unit containing R22 call us now and we’ll survey your site for free and find out whether you need an R22 replacement.
